22 YEARS
Against the norm · since 2003

We didn't set out to build workflow. We set out to anticipate AI.

When we started AgilePoint in 2003, we made an unfashionable bet: that the world would eventually need an execution architecture that could change in real time, driven by intelligence. Twenty-two years later, the rest of the market is calling that bet "agentic AI." We've been calling it composable architecture since day one.
01 — The bet

A workflow company that never wanted to be one.

In 2003, our founders made a choice that didn't make business sense at the time. At UMass Amherst, with a PhD path and offers from Intel, HP, and Sun on the table, the founder picked something stranger: design a systems execution architecture that could respond to change in real time — one that would matter when AI eventually drove dynamic execution.
The original architectural bet

Build a no-code execution architecture whose flipside happens to be exactly what citizen developers and AI agents would later need.

The market called us a BPM company. Then a low-code company. Neither was the plan. Both were natural consequences of an architecture built for something else.
02 — Four eras · one architecture

The same composable architecture, three times re-recognized.

AgilePoint didn't pivot four times to match four trends. The same vendor-neutral composable architecture — built in 2003 — became the right answer for advanced BPM (2007), then enterprise low-code (2016), and now agentic AI orchestration (2025).

2003

Founded · Day 1

The composable bet.

Ascentn (later AgilePoint) is founded on Jan 23. The thesis: execution should not be hard-coded. Build an architecture that adapts in real time — relevant to agility, and one day, to AI.

2007

Validated

Gartner BPM Cool Vendor.

Gartner spotlights AgilePoint for processes where the sequence of work isn't well understood — exactly the class of problem traditional BPM couldn't pre-define. The composable bet pays off.

2016

Democratized

Enterprise low-code.

The same architecture, now powering citizen development at TSMC, Toyota, Bridgestone, Boeing, Hyundai. Gartner Magic Quadrants for iBPMS, Low-Code Platform, and HPaPaaS.

2025

Mandatory

Agentic orchestration.

The market finally needs what we built in 2003. Composable architecture is now a must-have for governing agentic orchestration and enabling sovereign enterprise AI.

For processes where the sequence of work is not well understood, or that must change dynamically based on the context of the transaction in real time… this class of process problem is not easily pre-defined into structured automation. AgilePoint enables processes that can be dynamically changed in real time.
03 — The maturity gap

Most digital transformations stop one step short.

Over 90% of organizations halt their digital transformation at productivity gains — efficiency wins on top of legacy processes. They never reach the layer where pivot-on-demand adaptability becomes possible. That last step is the one AI now demands.

Agentic AI & autonomous business
Agents propose execution paths; the architecture binds them to governed, auditable action. Requires step 3 as foundation.

Skipping the adaptability step means bolting AI onto rigid processes — which is why 95% of enterprise AI pilots show no measurable return. AgilePoint customers cleared step 3 years ago, often without realizing they were doing so. That's why their AI investments work.

Customers who bet with us — starting in 2007.

05 — The moment has arrived

For 22 years we were early. Now we're on time.

Agentic AI doesn't make AgilePoint relevant — it makes the architecture we built in 2003 structurally necessary. Adaptive execution, vendor neutrality, governed orchestration, context-grounded AI: these aren't features we added. They're the architecture we've been shipping since version one.
Vision from day one

Composable architecture is a must-have.

Not a nice-to-have. Not a 2026 roadmap item. A must-have for governing agentic orchestration and enabling sovereign enterprise AI. The market has finally arrived where we've been standing — and the customers who bet with us early have a multi-year head start.
