Modernized Microsoft Experiences: What's New for SharePoint and Outlook in NX v10

NX v10 brings a set of updates to how AgilePoint works with Microsoft 365, refreshing two of the touchpoints customers rely on most: the Outlook Task Add-In and the SharePoint On-Premises solution. Here's a look at what's changed, and why the timing matters.

Outlook Task Add-In Gets aModern Face-Lift

AgilePoint rearchitected the Outlook Task Add-In using TypeScript and React. What used to be a simple approve-from-your-inbox tool now brings much of the Work Center experience directly into Outlook, including:

  • Viewingprocess details in real time
  •  Monitoring process progress
  • Accessing the eForm Report View
  •  Takingaction on assigned tasks directly from Outlook

New users canget started from the AppSource listing for the AgilePoint Task Add-In forOutlook, with a Microsoft 365 tenant administrator granting consent. Customersalready on the add-in update automatically once their administrator approvesthe new permissions.

SharePoint On-Premises Subscription Edition Support

AgilePoint also rebuilt its SharePoint On-Premises solution around Microsoft's recommended SharePoint Workflow Manager, replacing AgilePoint's dependency on native SharePoint 2010 workflows. For existing customers, the impact is minimal by design: apps, forms, and WorkCenter, Process Viewer, and eForms experiences carry forward unchanged, since AgilePoint's use of native SharePoint workflow was always limited to a singleevent listener step. Only Classic Work Center (already replaced by Modern Work Center in NX v9) and InfoPath support (removed by Microsoft) fall outside the new solution.

The redesigned solution requires AgilePoint NXv9 Software Update 1.1 or later, and ships rolled into the automated installer starting with NX v10.

The SharePoint 2016 and 2019 Deadline

These updates land at a useful moment.SharePoint Server 2016 and 2019 reach the end of Extended Support on July 14,2026, and the same deadline applies to the SharePoint 2010 workflow engine,InfoPath Forms (server and Microsoft 365), and SharePoint Designer 2013. Afterthat date, none of these receive further security patches or product support, which creates real exposure for regulated industries: HIPAA, FedRAMP, CMMC,PCI-DSS, and SOC2 all require vendor-supported software for compliantworkloads.

The full breakdown of the retirement timeline, the risks of staying on unsupported infrastructure, and a comparison ofmigration paths (Power Automate, SharePoint add-ons, and AgilePoint) is coveredi n:
