Every once in a while, you get an opportunity to work on something that changes the game. Something that might be hard and risky but meaningful. It is especially gratifying professionally and personally to introduce you to the new AgilePoint NX v8.0 Portal experience.

With thousands of customers and millions of users using AgilePoint NX daily, all of them have wanted one thing in common: a new and modern user experience. We have listened to, studied, and incorporated all of the feedback into a new, completely redesigned AgilePoint NX experience that will accelerate adoption, value creation and productivity for every AgilePoint NX customer and end user.

This launch is not just about new fonts, colors and icons. And it’s about much more than a refreshed user interface. AgilePoint NX v8.0 sports a clean, modern interface which is easier to read, use and reflects our commitment to invest in our vision for a modern, state-of-the-art product experience that helps business professionals be more productive. The interface also reflects the simplicity and empowerment at the heart of the new AgilePoint NX brand and matches its colors.

In designing the new look and feel for AgilePoint NX v8.0, we sought to empower application designers to create more useful and appealing experiences for their end users, customers and stakeholders. Application Designers who have built an app in this new look have told us they feel prouder of their app and as a result more excited to share it with their customers.

Since a smooth transition to the new user experience is paramount important to our customers, we’ve made it a priority to not change the majority of underlying features or functionality aside from Work Center and Mobile Apps which have been completely redesigned for better user experience. I will be covering those in a separate blog post in coming weeks. Beyond a UI refresh, all links and buttons are available in the same places, so there’s no learning curve. What’s more, your custom branding will not be affected as existing applications continue to look and work same way until you decide to upgrade them to new modern look and feel, which I will also cover in the subsequent blog post.

The entire AgilePoint NX platform is quite vast with just the App Builder having more than 5000 screens. Therefore, we had to break the project into various phases. We have targeted the most frequently used modules for redesign as part of the scope for AgilePoint NX v8.0. At the time of writing this article, we have completed the UI redesign for all the modules except Data Entity and Page Builder screens which are mainly used by limited users with advanced permissions. We plan to finish Data Entity and Page Builder screen redesign in coming months.

Today marks the start of a process that each and every customer will undergo to learn about, evaluate, and then plan a migration to the new AgilePoint NX Portal experience. We hope that you will like what you see and will continue to provide feedback to help us deliver even better experience. Our product has always been driven by our customers and users, and it’s your feedback and energy that will continue to drive its improvement going forward.

Over the next 8-10 weeks, we would be announcing a lot of new features and sneak peek into AgilePoint NX v8.0 before it is generally available. It is by far the biggest release we have had so keep following the blog for more updates.
