In this article, I am going to show, how to create a Form Based App on top of already designed database tables in your backend Oracle database. Data in form-based applications can originate in any SQL database (Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, etc.).

Support for Oracle is a very important aspect of Form Based Apps as well as Process Based App for large enterprise customers who have existing Oracle database tables and they just want to design data entry forms around those tables. It can be as simple as giving UI to populate a support/lookup table for which they had to previously write tedious SQL queries and can cover even the most complex data entry applications. This can bring huge value to customers who just need apps to be created around existing database.

AgilePoint NX supports all of the latest versions of Oracle DB, starting from Oracle DB 12c to Oracle DB 18c. This wide range should cover most live installations in the market.

Here is a brief video showing how such app can be created.

Please note that I had recorded this video when this feature was in beta version so some of the labels and icons might change before it is generally available but the base concept of designing such app will remain the same.
