In the series of announcements for AgilePoint NX v8.0 SU2 release, next we are going to look at two features that target improving user experience during app development.

With each release, there is a constant effort to promote reusability by introducing features which helps cut down the application development time.

AgilePoint NX provides several hundreds of process activities which are used in drag-drop-configure approach. Quite often, the configuration settings entered in the activity, the variables that are mapped, etc. just repeat multiple times in the process or processes created across applications. So, instead of re-entering these configurations and settings again and again, a new option has been provided to save a configured activity to reuse across different process models in same app or process models in different apps.

Of course, as you might have guessed by now, certain design components such as eForm will not get copied since this is protected by access rights and also scoped to the app itself. The management of the saved activity has been designed to ensure you can override saved activity with latest configurations if any changes are made. Similarly, the person who saved the activity or people belonging to Administrator role with permission to “Add, Remove, and Modify Global Application Resources” can delete the activities when the saved activity is no longer needed or when bulk clean-up has to be done toward the end of the development cycle.

Another feature which I will be discussing today is ability to create your personalized starred activity group. From the few hundred workflow activities available in the process designer, the app designers can now mark frequently used workflow activities as favorite. These starred activities will appear in a separate favorites section, saving the user from searching then through various activity groups.

Let’s look at these features in action.
