As part of the series of product updates on AgilePoint NX v8.0 Software Update 2 release, the next one I would like to share is about the Azure Service Bus Connector.

Azure Service Bus is a cloud-based enterprise message broker. It is used for transferring messages between apps, devices and services.

Let’s first grasp basic concepts. A message is the data which is transferred by ASB between apps, devices and services. Messages are sent to and received from queues. Queues store messages until the receiver can accept and process them. Messages in queues are ordered and timestamped on arrival. While a queue is often used for point-to-point communication, topics are useful in publish/subscribe scenarios. Topics can have multiple, independent subscriptions, which attach to the topic and otherwise work exactly like queues from the receiver side.

The following process activities have been added

  • Send Message To Queue
  • Send Message To Topic

This video covers end to end scenario for how to configure business process to perform supported Azure Service Bus operations which includes basic concepts like activity configuration, runtime execution etc.

Note: Please note that this video is recorded while this feature is in beta version. Some of the labels and icons might change by the time it goes GA but the general concept of configuring these activities would remains the same.
