If you’ve never heard of the low code approach to app development before then get ready because you’re about to start hearing it everywhere. The streamlined approach involves rapid design and development with minimal amounts of coding, and deep integration with third-party application programming interfaces (APIs).

Low-code application development platforms have been gaining momentum in recent years, with most of the discussions centering around how they can replace traditional programming platforms for enterprise apps. However there’s not really any individual definition of low code development.

The burgeoning low-code/no-code market is exploding with innovation, driving unprecedented value for customers while confusing most of the customers. Some vendors in low code space concentrate on mobile apps only, some are good at doing form and data driven apps only, a handful of them excel on the workflow side of things and then there is a altogether different stream of low code vendors which concentrate on enterprise service bus kind of integrations.

With all these options to choose from, it is very easy for decision makers to get confused and end up choosing the product which does not meet needs for the entire organization. It is always better to put the product you are evaluating through a test to build a fairly comprehensive application with multiple integrations to see if it still can remain low code.
